Privacy Policy

Backyard Majors is a fan-run competitive community for Backyard Baseball. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We keep it short because we collect very little.

What we collect

• From Discord when you sign in: your Discord user ID, username, display name, avatar and the email address on your Discord account. We use Discord to log you in; we never see your Discord password.
• What you give us: your coach name, handle, platform, region, favorite kid, bio, team names and logos, and a Twitch channel if you add one.
• What you do here: scorecards, match results, Elo history, league and cup entries, draft picks, Founding Member number and who invited you.
• Technical basics: login cookies (to keep you signed in), and standard server logs (like IP address and browser) kept by our hosting provider for security. If error monitoring is on, crash reports may include the page you were on.

How we use it

• To run the site: your account, the ladder, matchmaking, leagues, cups and stats.
• To run our Discord: match rooms, roles (like Founding Member), pings for your matches, and bans for rule breaking.
• To show public pages: your Dugout, ladder rank, box scores and share images are public by design.
• To keep things fair and safe: disputes, bans and stopping cheating or spam.

We don't sell your data, we don't run ads, and we don't use your data to train anything.

Who else handles it

• Supabase: our database and login.
• Vercel: hosting.
• Discord: login, our server and bot.
• Twitch: checking whether a linked channel is live.
• Sentry (if enabled): error reports so we can fix bugs.

Your choices

• You can edit your profile any time in your Dugout.
• You can ask us to delete your account and personal data by messaging a Commissioner in our Discord. Match results already confirmed by an opponent may stay in anonymized form so other players' records stay correct.
• You can remove the Backyard Majors app from your Discord account under Settings → Authorized Apps.

Kids

Backyard Majors is for players 13 and older, the same as Discord. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone younger.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date above and post about bigger changes in our Discord.
